“As you know, I work two jaabs…
My 9-5 and any other “side hustle” I’m involved in at any stage in my life.
At my first job… I had more time on my hands and any free time I got, I’d spend recklessly.
Some of the things I spent my time on back in the day:
- Streaming rap battles on YouTube with the office wifi
- Binge-watching new series on 02tvseries (before Netflix became a thing)
- Arguing politics at the office with my co-workers
At the same time, I had a coworker- Chima, who I was mentoring at the office. But what I did not know then was he had side hustle online.
Chima loved to play devil’s advocate
I mean, he’d start an argument, take the side everyone was against, and argue till everyone was talking and shouting at each other while he sat back & watched.
When I decided to start learning a high-income skill online, I told no one, but Chima was the first person to catch on. He noticed I stopped joining in conversation and I was more focused on my laptop.
I was coming in early and closing late.
One day, he asked me what I was trying to do and I replied “make money online”
And he goes “No wonder you’re using your time better now”
So I asked him if he had a side hustle (we all assumed he was from a rich family because of how he spent)
That was when he brought out his laptop and showed me his blog.
Chima had a security blog he had been building for 2 whole years.
What was more shocking was that the blog was up to date. I saw the last date he posted (2 days ago)
“When you dey get time update your blog?”
He replied that for the first 2 hours everyday when he comes to the office,
The first thing he does is “work on his business”
After that, he’d use the next 3 hours to do 80-85% of his office work (we had set targets)
When he had done that, he’ll relax and start doing anything he wants to do for fun.
This includes:
- Movies
- Arguments
- Even chatting with girls and trying to see who was coming over for the weekend.
Most things I used to do but he was far ahead of me. He had his priority in check.
I started this email trying to give you a real-life scenario of how time is used differently by 2 people.
And because Chima spent his time better than I did, he was wealthier, fitter, and had more confidence in himself.
When it comes to making money…
YOUR TIME is a huge factor.
Imagine you had a job for $2000 that would take you 4 days to complete and another job for $500 that would take you 2 hours to complete.
What job do you think you should do?
If you had to do both.. which would you do first?
If you had to say NO to one, which would it be?
Think clearly about these questions, weigh the pros and cons, and let me know in your reply what you would do.
